The Long Beach Unified School District honored nine of its elementary schools last month with STAR Awards for significant gains in student achievement.
This year’s winners are Addams, Alvarado, Burbank, Burnett, Fremont, Lafayette, Longfellow, Madison and Willard elementary schools.
“Congratulations to our STAR schools, which represent a wide variety of geographic areas in our school district,” said Jill Baker, assistant superintendent for elementary, middle and K-8 schools.
